College parent seeks casual/contract worker

The Role

We have approximately 30 locations in the CBD that we visit daily to pick up / drop off dry cleaning and some sites have a towel service as well. It is the same route in the same order every day so it’s pretty easy to learn. Training / handover / inductions etc are provided.

Work type – Regular, ongoing casual or contract work. We have to cover 5 days per week (happy to split between 2 people if need be).

Rates – negotiable

Hours – approx 9 / 9:30 am start and finished by 1:30 / 2pm max (days vary slightly depending on how many orders etc)

The van – Toyota Hiace van – automatic.

The Person

-          Knowledge of CBD

-          Confidence driving the van (reversing in loading docks etc)

-          Well presented

-          Organised / good problem solving

-          Attention to detail

-          Good time management

-          Physically fit – while we have trolleys etc – some of the towels can get a bit heavy but nothing stupid.

Anyone interested please call Brandon Thompson 0438 376 745

Have a Heart Day

Thursday 23 May will be Have a Heart Day for all Middle & Senior School students.

This is a fundraiser day for the Heart Foundation.

This day is also a tribute to past student Alex Ohlwein who passed away suddenly last year due to a heart condition.

Students are encouraged to bring a donation which will be collected during Spiritual Life period.  They are also encouraged to wear a heart that they make and pin on.  It may include the name of a friend or family member that they would like to remember.

Have A Heart Day

On Thursday 23 May the Junior school children may wear hearts or red accessories such as ribbons, laces, scarf, gloves, socks for Have a Heart Day.

The College is supporting Rebecca Ohlwein, Redlands College alumni, as she raises funds for the Heart Foundation. Sadly the Ohlwein family lost a brother and son to heart problems last year.

Children may bring a gold coin on this day to support this worthy cause.

The Creative Generation for Excellence in Visual Art (Natalie Vear cohort 2012)

The Creative Generation for Excellence in Visual Art was opened last Thursday evening. Natalie Vear’s (graduate from Redlands College in 2012) work A Portrait of my Brother is one of the thirty artworks selected from across Queensland for the exhibition. The exhibition closes August 11.

It is worthwhile seeing the exhibition. Natalie’s piece looks fantastic in the space.

Ensemble photos from the Fete

Thanks and congratulations to the 200+ students who performed in Performance Music choirs and instrumental ensembles, throughout the day at the College Fete last Saturday. G7 was a popular venue on the day, with superb performances from students in all age groups, and large supportive audiences who at times overflowed the room.

Special thanks to Caitlin Olsen, Jaimee Dowsett and Ben Lawrence, who helped out with setting and re-setting the room for the event.

Here are some photos from the day:
