The CONTEMPORARY MUSIC GUITAR ENSEMBLE will be holding a workshop on the evening of Wednesday 2 May, at 7:00 pm in the G7 Music Space.
The workshop features guest clinician Dr Paul Svoboda. It will be a highlight for our students to experience workshopping one of his compositions with him – and we invite any members of the College community who would be interested in watching Paul work with the students to attend. At 7:50 pm the students will present the piece they have been workshopping, and the evening will conclude at 8:15 pm.
Dr Paul Svoboda has been one of Brisbane’s, and Australia’s, leading guitar ensemble directors for the past 13 years. He has taken Villanova College and Loreto College ensembles to the Perth International Guitar Ensembles Festival, winning much acclaim from such internationally renowned guitarists as Karen Schaupp and Slava Grygorian. Dr Svoboda is now offering the guitar students of Redlands College the chance to workshop with him and feed off his experience and energy. The one-hour session on 2 May will give them an opportunity to work through, and present, one of Dr Svoboda’s own compositions, in a friendly and fun atmosphere.
