For parents with students in years 9 and 11, a presentation will be held, on Tuesday 24/4 from 6pm to 6:45pm in K20, looking at the changes in iPad settings.
The purpose of this presentation is to advise parents of a change that will be made to the configuration of the iPads used by Years 9 and 11 students.
The initial configuration disabled location services on the iPad. It seems, however, that the location services feature needs to be enabled for apps specific to learning and assessment to work correctly. Consequently, we will enable location services, starting in Term Two.
The location services feature adds the geographical location into images and video taken with the iPad camera. It is important, therefore, that students are very careful about publishing images / video created on an iPad to the internet, including sites like Facebook and Tumblr. All Years 9 and 11 students will have been briefed about behaving in a cyber safe manner within the first two weeks of second term.
